Lima Airport launches Terminal 2 featuring Living Map’s digital wayfinding technology

Lima Airport has launched its new Terminal 2, featuring Living Map’s digital wayfinding technology to streamline passenger flow. It also features location-based notifications, creating more dynamic engagement.

Lima Airport has launched its new second terminal, designed to improve both domestic and international passenger experiences. Following the success of Living Map’s digital wayfinding technology in Terminal 1, the new terminal also introduced this solution to streamline passenger flow.

Passengers and visitors can access the digital map on the airport’s website or via QR codes located throughout the terminal, ensuring easy navigation to key locations like security, gates, restrooms, shops, and restaurants.

As part of this launch, Living Map introduced location-based notifications. This feature allows retailers in Terminal 2 to highlight promotions, discounts, and events to passengers as they pass by, creating a more dynamic and engaging space while improving the overall visitor experience.

Additionally, the map’s data insights help airport operations improve the space by analysing foot traffic, passenger flow, and preferences.

“After testing the technology in Terminal 1, we were able to verify the quality and ease of use of the platform,” said Javier Cabanillas, Lead of Digitalisation, Lima Airport Partners. “An important benefit that we took into account was that it is a web platform and the passenger does not have to download any app on their smartphone to be able to use it. This is why we brought the technology to the new terminal, being the first airport in the region to have this technology, which not only shows the route to follow to reach a destination, but also shows the real-time location of the passenger, making the user experience very intuitive and simple, which is a very important aspect for us.”

Peter Asman, CRO, Living Map, added: “We’re proud to have played a key role in the launch of Lima’s Terminal 2. Our multi-lingual wayfinding solution, combined with location-based advertising on the map, is designed to enhance the airport experience, driving success for both retailers and passengers alike.”
