VINCI Airports offers SAF and an electric charging station at Annecy Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc Airport

VINCI Airports is advancing sustainability at Annecy Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc Airport with Sustainable Aviation Fuel and an electric charging station, boosting eco-friendly aviation and reducing CO2 emissions. VINCI Airports – a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub – has taken a new step in the environmental strategy of Annecy Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc Airport by providing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and an electric charging station, via a new fuelling contract with TotalEnergies. A 44kW electric recharging point dedicated to electric aircraft has also been commissioned. The new installation now enables the distribution of alternative aviation fuel containing SAF to airlines and airport users, thanks to the installation of a semi-underground tank. This initiative is in line with the commitment made to the Haute-Savoie department when it took over operation of the infrastructure in 2022, aiming to decarbonise the activities of the airport and those of its...

VINCI Airports enters partnership to study and implement a sustainable synthetic fuels supply chain

VINCI Airports has signed an agreement with H2V and Hy2gen to study the methods of production and supply of synthetic sustainable aviation fuels, or e-SAF, by 2030, as part of a commitment to decarbonisation. VINCI Airports – a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub – has signed an agreement with H2V and Hy2gen to study the methods of production and supply of synthetic sustainable aviation fuels, or e-SAF, by 2030 intended for commercial airlines operating at Lyon-Saint ExupĂ©ry, Lyon Bron and Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne airports. “This partnership once again demonstrates VINCI Airports’ commitment to the decarbonisation of air transport, which we are fully implementing here on several platforms operated in France,” said Guillaume Dubois, Technical Director, VINCI Airports. “We are pleased with this progress and remain committed to contribute, alongside industrial players, to developing less carbon-intensive aviation.” In a second phase, this study will be ext...

Heathrow accelerates Sustainable Aviation Fuel adoption as part of pioneering carbon cutting scheme

Heathrow Airport – a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub – has announced an increase in its pioneering carbon cutting scheme and accelerated adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Heathrow Airport – a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub – has announced an increase in its pioneering carbon cutting scheme for a fourth year. In 2025, £86 million will be available to airlines through the airport’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) incentive scheme, targeting 3% of aviation fuel used at Heathrow to be SAF – amounting to 187,000 tonnes. The scheme encourages airlines to switch to SAF by approximately halving the price gap between kerosene and its cleaner alternative, making SAF more commercially viable for airlines. In 2025, the scheme aims to reduce lifecycle carbon emissions from flights by over 500,000 tonnes. The 2025 incentive aims to align with Heathrow’s target to be 1% above the UK mandate in 2030: achieving 11% SAF use at ...
